The military version of Thermosaver Hypothermic Rescue Bag is now codified and approved by NATO and allocated a Nato Stock Number (NSN). This is a requirement to all products that are to be purchased by Nato throughout the 31 member countries.
To be codified and allocated a Nato Stock Number, operational units in Nato need to have indicated interest in using the product. For Thermosaver, such signals have come from both the Norwegian and the Danish Armed Forces.
Codification follows the rules set by the Nato Codification System (NCS). The objective of standardisation in the defence sector is to develop common procedures, practices and equipment that will make it possible to carry out effective national and allied military operations, and exercises in a safe and cost effective manner.
“Having been allocated a Nato Stock Number gives us an opporunity to introduce Thermosaver to all Nato member countries based on a codification they are all familiar with.”
Reidar Stockfleth – Charirman of the Board at Thermosaver
